All are welcome regardless of faith background.
At Colorado Springs Quakers, our core values include SIMPLICITY, PEACE, INTEGRITY, EQUALITY & COMMUNITY
At Colorado Springs Quakers, our meeting is NOT led by a pastor or structured sermon, instead, we all have the opportunity to speak to those in attendance as the Holy Spirit leads us.
Why are our Sunday service conducted this way?
We believe that each of us carry within each and everyone of us the divine spark that that connects us directly to the power that gives life to all, and in whom we live, move and have our being. Because of that personal and direct connection to God/Source, we all have something to contribute in gathered worship.
Of course there is no expection that anyone has to speak a word durring the meeting for worship. Together we are all connecting to the divine in our own ways each meeting.
Our worship service is a 1 hour (unprogrammed) worship service where each participant joins in quiet waiting on the Spirit of God to meet and speak into their lives, connecting to the Divine Spark within all present.
Seating is set out in a semicircle.
At the end of the hour of intentional connection to Divinity, the Clerk of the Meeting closes the meeting by asking those atteding if they have anyone they want the other members to "Hold in the Light." Holding in the Light is the group prayer time
Yes, Colorado Springs Quakers has a dedicated prayer team that regularly pray for the needs of our congregation and community. Prayer requests are also shared at the close of each Sunday 10am meeting, in a time referred to as 'Holding in the Light' expressed prayer requests.
When prayer time ends, the Meeting Clerk opens the group to the 'Rise of Meeting'. A time for in-person and on-line attendees to itroduce themselves by first name.
A time for announcements follows introductions.
After announcements, an informal connection time for those attending to hangout, meet and greet eachother, catch up and introduce themselves more fully to others in attendance, (lasting 15- 20 min).
Ater hangout time each Sunday, the following sheduled time is provided for those that want to stay after and participate.
