New Donation Functionality!

Wednesday, 12 March 2008

NOTE: The donation component is functional and accounts with PayPal are active!

We have added yet another new element to the funtionality of the Colorado Springs Quakers website. Members as well as guests can donate online directly to the Meeting. Access to the donation module can be found on the ever-present top menu (above), and the Member Menu if you are logged in.

Additionally, if you are logged in as a member, the website will automatically fill in the donation form with your name and contact information. You can also opt to have it keep a record of your donations that you can view on your private Member Profile page.

The new donation software uses PayPal to complete all the transactions, so you can be assured of your safety as it it all handled by thier secure servers.

Community Builder component added

Monday, 10 March 2008

The latest addition to the new Colorado Springs Quakers website has been completed! The addition of the Community Builder component has allowed us to create a member database that will achieve to important goals:

1) The definition of members who will be allowed access to areas of the website unaccessible by public viewers such as internal member-only news, meeting minutes, and committee reports. Registered users (members) will also be allowed to submit news, calendar events and weblinks that can be reviewed and published by the site administrators.

2) Community Builder allows us to display a membership directory to our registered members. Assuming our members provide their information, the list will provide names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses. This information is also inaccessible to the general public, so only our fellow members will be able to view it.

We have disabled user registration however, considering that we want to limit our registered users to only members of the Colorado Springs Religious Society of Friends. As we move forward we will populate the member list from the administrator's side in order to get it started, but from there members will be able to login and manage their own profiles.

We will let everyone know as we add them to the registered user list. Keep an eye on your inbox!

Hello and welcome to the new website for the Colorado Springs Religious Society of Friends, Unprogrammed Quaker Meeting! We are still in the process of adding content and functionality to this website, so please be patient and check back often.

Eventually we will be able to offer internal communications to our members as well as informational updates to our wider community.
